Junior Community Awards
The Rotary Junior Community Awards is a non-competitive award for year six students designed to encourage them to become better involved in their community. The students engage in a list of activities designed to increase their knowledge about community values and to give them satisfaction in volunteering. The students are provided with a diary of community activities to work through and when they've completed all the tasks, there is a formal ceremony to congratulate them, and they're presented with a certificate. The sponsoring Rotary Club sets the activities and assist the students to complete their tasks. The Rotary Junior Community Awards are currently operating in approximately 30 schools in our district and are being completed annually by about 200 students.
