District Awards – Clubs

District 9815 ‘Club Reconnect Week Recognition’ (Presented by District Alumni Chair, Kehela Vandenberg)
Recognizes a Club annually within Rotary District 9815 for their exemplary initiatives to reconnect, connect and/or celebrate Rotary’s Alumni during Rotary Reconnect Week held annually during the second week of October.
The Club will be recognized at the District Awards Night.

District 9815 ‘Club Rotary Alumni Engagement Recognitions’ (Presented by District Alumni Chair, Kehela Vandenberg)
Recognizes Clubs annually for their initiatives in connecting, re-connecting and sustained engagement with Rotary’s Alumni.
 
Recognition Items for Achievement (1 July to 1 May each year)
  • Included Alumni in your Club correspondence (e.g. Club Bulletin/Newsletter)
 
  • Had Alumni participate in a Club or District service project or fundraising venture
  • Invited Alumni to like/follow the Club’s social media accounts
 
  • Had one or more Alumni as a guest speaker
  • New Rotary Alumni invited to attend a Club meeting prior to their sponsored Rotary experience
 
  • Invited Alumni to attend the District Conference, Zone Conference or Rotary International Convention
  • New Rotary Alumni invited to attend a Club meeting after their sponsored Rotary experience
 
  • Had one or more Alumni attend the District Conference, Zone Conference or Rotary International Convention
  • Recognized Reconnect week by either holding a specific event for Rotary Alumni, inviting Rotary Alumni to attend the Club’s meeting or otherwise recognizing one or more Rotary Alumni via the Club’s newsletter, social media platforms or Club website.
 
  • Outside of reconnect week, the Club has held a specific event aimed at Rotary Alumni
  • Invited Alumni to significant Club events (e.g. end of year event, Changeover)
 
  • Involved one or more Alumni in selecting or nominating candidates for a Rotary Foundation or Youth program/scholarship
  • Introduced Alumni to another Rotary or Rotaract Club
 
  • One or more members over the past year has mentored one or more Rotary Alumni
  • The Club has created and/or otherwise used specific marketing materials or tools targeted at Rotary Alumni
 
  • The Club has consulted with one or more Rotary Alumni to assist the Club with a Rotary Area of Focus or Avenue of Focus initiative/task/program.
  • A Club’s Alumni has made a financial or in-kind donation to one or more the Club’s projects or fundraising activities
 
  • One or more of the Club’s Alumni have made a donation to the Rotary Foundation, and this is known to the Club
  • Invited suitable Rotary Alumni to join as a member of the Club
 
  • Has inducted a Rotary Alumni as a Honorary or Active member of Rotary during the recognition period (1 July – 1 May)
  • One or more members attended a Rotary District Alumni Webinar or in-person event
 
  • One or more members attended the Rotary Alumni Lunch at the District Conference
  • The Club has appointed a Rotary Alumni Liaison Officer (or similar type role)
 
  • The Club maintains a database of the Club’s Alumni (beneficiaries of youth/foundation programs or scholarships)
  • The Club has provided the District Alumni Chair details of their Alumni for record keeping purposes
 
  • The Club had a presentation by a member of the Rotary District Alumni Committee or otherwise engaged/consulted with them in relation to initiatives to reconnect, connect and/or engage with their Rotary Alumni
  • The Club has recognized one or more of their Alumni with a Club award or as a Paul Harris Fellow
 
  • The Club has sponsored a past Rotary Alumni for a further Rotary Youth and/or Foundation experience or scholarship
  • Invited at least one Alumni to present to the Club on a topic other than about their Rotary experience
 
  • Involved Alumni in the sourcing, nomination or selection of candidates for Youth or Foundation programs or scholarships
  • The Club had purchased and given one or more of their Alumni a Rotary Alumni lapel pin (purchase via this link)
 
  • The Club has reconnected with at least one of its Alumni during the Rotary year.
 
Recognition levels:
  • Bronze: achieved between 5 – 9 of the above mentioned
  • Silver: achieved between 10 – 19 of the above mentioned
  • Gold: achieved between 20 – 30 of the above mentioned
Clubs will be recognized at the District Awards Night.

District 9815 ‘Outstanding Club Rotary Alumni Engagement Award’ (Presented by District Alumni Chair, Kehela Vandenberg)
This award recognizes Clubs who have made an exemplary effort in connecting, reconnecting and engaging with Rotary Alumni during a Rotary calendar year and through their efforts can be considered a role model to other Clubs within the District.
The Club will be recognized at the District Awards Night.
